The Opportunity
A few years back, we saw an opportunity in the appliance market for a unique cost savings approach. Manufacturers and consumers loved the premium look of stainless steel knobs, but not the steep cost. We began exploring ways to achieve a chrome appearance with a spun metal look using less expensive materials.
Our Solution
With a combination of art, screens and ink layers, we developed a pattern for this project that mimicked a metal look with a spin brush appearance on plastic materials. We went above and beyond to create an industry-revolutionizing look with a highly aesthetic finished product.
The Results
We were able to provide the market a knob that provided a significant cost reduction over current alternatives, while still keeping the premium appearance that consumers desire. The knobs are still in production today and are one of our most successful products.
