One of our partners came to us with a problem: they were using expensive, decorative capacitance glass and needed to find a more affordable alternative that didn’t sacrifice on the look or function of the product. Knowing that we had experience coming up with solutions where there were none before, they felt confident working with us.
Our Solutions
We utilized our polymer film and pressure sensitive adhesive coating knowledge to come up with a simulated glass capacitance membrane switch. Combining various process techniques and material stack ups, we were able to replace the glass with a thick, heat-resistant material that was also flexible enough to allow a membrane switch to function properly.
The Results
After rigorous experimentation and testing, we delivered a product that eliminated the need for expensive decorated glass and capacitance electronics. In the end, this helped our client make their product less expensive and reach a larger audience.
